I just might do that; although I'll have to get permission from my son- it's actually "his" car...

Thanks! The plate is solid steel with a welded brace at the bottom of the DIN slot to hold the radio securely. The plate really made the console assembly much more solid, as the original plastic faceplate was cracked and brittle.
