Not mine - no association standard disclaimer applies

I noticed this car at the local Passport Mini (of Alexandria) on Friday and went to check it out this morning. They want $ 7,500.00 for it. According to salesman Charles Walker (ahem... "Motoring Advisor") a guy bought it intending on a full restoration then just traded it in on a new Mini.

Some of my notes:

The body has a rough re-spray of the original Sienabraun metallic color.

Sunroof has issues - needs adjusting

Body appears to be in very good shape, nose good, panels OK, some rust in passenger side floor. I did not examine inside the trunk, nor drive the car.

Black cloth Recaro front seats with incorrect sliders. Tan door cards, re-done back seat.

Original REPA seat belts

Missing underdash panels and some console parts.

Two (2) dash cracks.

Headliner in OK shape, dome light still works

Engine:

Numbers matching block

Weber 2-barrel carb

Headers with larger diameter exhaust and Magnaflow S/S muffler

121 TI Cylinder head (71 casting)

Centrifugal advance type distributor

E21 radiator (looked new)

Bosch remanufactured alternator

Suspension:

Rial 13" alloy wheels

I.E. front and rear sway bars

Bilstein shocks

Overall, this car wasn't too bad - but not worth $ 7,500.00

Now on to the pics

Too bad I can't find an early Roundie for my project around here.

Guy at the dealership had no clue about the car - at least he was honest. Since I drove the tii over to check it out, he left me alone with the car. After seeing the engine, wish I would have asked for the keys. Wonder if it had a 292 cam. Maybe another time.

LES- if you are reading this, I checked the registry - it's not in there.

You interested in mine? I'm at a pile of forks in the road and getting rid of her is one of the options.

Sorry Sean - I'm looking for an earl(ier) Roundie (like a '71). Maybe Paul Wegweiser will buy his old car back from you.

I can understand that. I wish your shell was one year earlier too!

Although it sometimes feels like I have been around it (and pushed it around enough!), the primo '76 sunroof shell is Marshall Lytle's.
