Thanks all!

It was actually found in a WV Craigslist ad. Funny though...car was in Bridgeport, OH. Private sale from Dave Francovich.

Brought it to Automotive Restorations this morning. My friend Kent said I may have over paid a little after further inspection, but he is pleased with it and thinks it will be a great daily for the next year or two until I do the body. I guess there are some rust spots that concerned him....structurally. I'll post when I know more, but his concern needed to be verified after a good degrease, and a little probing.

Looks like for another 2500$ or so, it will be back together and ready to be my commuter car!

Haha....I bought this car because of the AC!!!....lol

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the club. Another CT 02er is always nice to have. Good luck with it and keep us posted.

My 2002 was manufactured on September 15th, 1971 and delivered on October 22nd, 1971 to the BMW importer Hoffman Motors Corp. in New York City. The original colour was Granada, paint code 023. It was sold on New Years Eve December 31st 1971.

Nice! I think you got a real good deal. Besides, as long as you are happy with it and comfortable with the price, nothing else matters. I think I got a good deal on mine, and I paid a bit more than you. But I am happy and comfortable with it. Enjoy your purchase, and when its ready, drive the hell out of it!! The best part of having one of these is watching it improve as you tweek it. I would recommend doing as much work on it as you can within your abilities and motivation. There is nothing more rewarding than trouble shooting a noise, improving a handling issue, or just doing normal maintenance... that's how you really get to know and love it. Then you can step back, wipe the grease off your hands and smile at what you've just accomplished. Have fun!!!
