Clutch bleeding problem?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys

I just put in my transmission today and it has been out of the car for a long while now I reattached the clutch slave cylinder to the master cylinder and I cannot seem to get any fluid to the slave cylinder at all. I am trying by pumping the clutch pedal.

Did I do everything correct? or I am missing a step?

Assume you have the slave bleed screw open.

If the slave cyl has also sat a while the bleed screw could be blocked/gummed up, if so, remove it and see if you get fluid through then.

.......... and clutch bleeding is done

with pressure from a home made

oiling can, or proper pressure bleeder.

You should own a pressure bleeder

anyway for the yearly brake/clutch

fluid flushing. You will not bleed the

clutch by pedal pumping.
