Rubber fuel hose question.

part of the original emission system as his fuel supply line. It originally piped fumes from the collection cannister in the engine compartment to the condenser box (grey plastic container above the right rear wheel well in the trunk) and then on into the gas tank.

Lots of folks who don't live in salt country do this mod for various reasons, but the original fuel line is in fact the self-sealing plastic line that runs along the passenger side of the car inside the body.

BTW, never replace that line with anything else--the plastic is designed to seal itself up in a fire, and is flexible enough to bend in a severe accident. I've yet to see one break.
