Key Question

Is the key for the door and the key for the ignition the same? The key for my door and trunk seem to be different

They use the same key from the factory. Your ignition or door handles were changed out by PO. You can always get your handles re-keyed to match one key.

Mine has 1 key for the doors/ignition and 1 for the trunk. Don't know if 1600s came like that... my 74 and 76 did, however.

my 72 touring 2000 also has a key for door/ignition and one separate for the trunk.

And here's a picture of them for your reference. Ignition and doors on the left, trunk on the right. Don't mind the other two; ones for a steering lock and the other for a locking fuel filler cap. Hope this helps!

the trunk key is different. This is true with all 1600s and 2002s.

If doors and ign don't match, a PO has swapped something out. Check archives if you want to try and all make 'em work on the same key.
