in the UK it was only the late model auto that got a factory twin barrel solex IIRC, but I'm not 100%, and this could also apply to LHD Euro cars. Might be different in the States.

I think all US '02s had twin barrels from the early '70s. Maybe something to do with the gas/petrol.

When I brought my single barrel solexed Touring over here, I had to put a twin barrel weber on to get the same/similar performance I'd had in the UK.

carbs, both sticks and automatics. Not so with the Euro models. They didn't get two bbl carbs on the stick cars until later (not sure when).

As was pointed out, other than the flywheel and the kickdown linkage on the accelerator, stick and automatic engines were the same.

cheers

one detail to not forgot, Automatic engines dont have pilot bearing on the end of the cranshaft for proper manual trans input shaft alignment...

so if you do a 5pseed swap, you must install one.

other differences globaly:

-center console and shifter mechanism unique

-driveshaft and guibo unique

-passenger floor pan (larger to accomodate trans oil pan/exhaust clearance)

-exhaust hanger specific to Automatic (at the tail of the trans)

-trans support/braket and rubber isolator different/specific to Automatic's

-seperate wiring harness for neutral safety start, with relay (mounted under the dash near the ignition switch itself)

-brake fluid bottle (no nipple for the clutch hose)

-pedal box, no holes for the clutch linkage

-brake pedal (larger)

-accelerator pedal (longer, like a Tii)+ kick-down button

-throtle rod at the carb unique(spring mechanism for the kick-down cable)

-some has oil coller lines/rad, some dont...

-braketery for oil coller lines, kick-down cable
