He is very excited. Car runs and drives very well. Ordering a new guibo and CS bearing since they look a bit worn. He is 17, will be driving this to Mid America. I bought him new Rota B's and 195/50/15's for it. Have just minor sorting, tightening etc to do. But overall great rust free car. Doors shut great etc.

Can anyone tell me about this can based on the VIN plate?

Car was in Pheonix, AZ, this time last year.

Orig Polaris.

Built Aug/Sep '75

Looks like a brother to my "Da Beater". You need a white roof though.

Ha thanks Les, my son has a summer job at a kind of high end paint and body shop. The owner is going to help him paint his car back Polaris. AZ is right as it as an AZ title right now. Man you have a ton of info

When I refurb'd the Touring back in '87-'88, I sold my other '02 ('73 Riviera), the 3.0csi and the 320/6 that I had, and said exactly the same.

Look at me now!

great gift!

he/you certainly have yer work cut out for you

seems a small fire is part of this cars history?!

all wiring needs inspection, connections, sockets, oxidation, dirt,

cleaned and removed - before this car leaves town for the great adventure - for safety and reliability

p.s. start by removing the metal

spacers located under the inner

fenders ontop of the front struts.

The suspension, ride height,

handling will be happier. But

you might then start to rub tire

someplaces......

p.s. II no one willbe happy

breathing inside the car with that

cam cover breather beltching fumes

into the vent intake area. Route

a long hose to exit under the car

near the pedal box, or make a

breather catch can with a vent hose

pointing to the ground under the car

Never saw evidence of fire, car is hugely dusty underhood but everything appears intact. I will follow your advice because better to discover at home then on the side of the freeway.

I got my balls bashed a lot learing on my car but gained tons of knowledge from this forum from you guys. I am sure I will be asking more and cannot wait to see everyone at Mid America
