Someone Know the Rear Emblem Mounting Hole Locations?

Well I think I have stumped CD.

Have to replace the trunk lid with an older version that did not have the holes for the rear trunk logo goes.

Would someone know precisely where to drill them?

Thanks again as always.

Justin

We did ;)

I can probably take some measurements from my 76's trunk lid for you later today with a yardstick, I'll at least give you a rough estimate and pictures of exactly where it lines up. I pulled that emblem off long ago as an ornament so that won't be an issue for me. I'll probably get to it around 3:00PM Eastern time.

Make sure that when you drill the holes that you put painters tape or something similar over where you'll be drilling... for 2 reasons:

1) you can mark on it! :)

2) It keeps the paint from shearing off around the hole at the impact of the drillbit and leaves a nice uniform surface of paint.

I'll also guesstimate the hole sizes with my collection of drillbits, if you would like.

Justin, I went out and took measurements from both of my cars (74 and 76)-Involving removing the middle beltline trim (needed to anyway) and emblems (also needed to)- Both cars, from the edge of where the trunk flattens out at the top, gave me 23 3/4 inches for the first hole (from the left of the trunk) and 25 3/4 for the second (again from the left)- And then, using a FLEXIBLE ruler, starting from the very bottom of the trunk with the belt line removed, the center of the holes measured 3 1/2 inches up. The flexible ruler is necessary to get an accurate measurement as this part of the trunk is sloped and curved to a big angle. If anyone wants to confirm these, please do, but these are the results I got. Good luck man! hope this helps. I'll take pictures for reference if you would like me to.

P.S. the holes require a 1/4 inch drill bit; I confirmed this with both sticking a drill bit through it and holding my drill bit chart to it.
