Do you love an "other"?

My 1909 Marion Bobcat. Given to me by my father, from his father. We have pictures of the car from the day he found it in a field with a belt and saw hooked up to the flywheel at a farm. We also have a video of him loading it, unloading it and shutting the barn doors, then the next clip is of him driving it out from the barn fully restored for the first time. Very cool. This car was saved in 1948. Followed by a 1907 Thomas Flyer, a couple Stanleys, a Silver Ghost, Blower Bentley, etc.....some really cool cars...that of course we all wish were still in the family!

I've had lots of loves come and go, but my current "other" is my trusty ex-gov 91 D250 3/4 ton w/ optional HD package. Even with the leaks, groans, rust, etc, there is something satisfying about driving around an old truck. The concept of door dings, locking it up or your own personal appearance is completely tossed out the window. SDC10327.jpg

and

1954 International Harvester R-110...have only had this one for about 1.5 years and have yet to spend much time with it..

OHHH MY GAWD!!!!!

my very first vehicle i ever owned was a 1954 International Harvester L100 with an RD220 inline six and 'three on a tree'. it looked just like the one you have with the later front grill. top speed was 55mph. i acquired it in 1978 and kept it until 1991 when my parents suggested it was time to get it off their property (i was living in another state at the time). i planted a small cactus in the ashtray. i rebuilt the tranny using only an exploded parts diagram. i later acquired a '53 L120 with hopes of restoring it but it too had to go. i always felt IHI was the unloved step-child of the old trucks.

Kris.... you suck! ;) GT3 right? Gorgeous!

Here's my first entry into P-car ownership. Still needs a ducktail, but did manage to install a Rennshift short shift system. STILL getting used to the 915 trans!

GT3 yep. Love your car, great 70's color

Also, thanks to FunElan from this forum for taking it for a spin before the purchase.

My pleasure! It was fun. I've been waiting for my dad for my dad to post a pic of his Lotus so I'll just do it for him.

ELan3-8-08

1969 Lotus Elan-He's owned it since the early 80s. I was born in 1991 so this is the car I grew up riding in. Currently has a blown rear tranny seal so it's not getting driven as much as it used to :(.
