Gauge of wire coming off the harness? Where to tap?

I am about to relocate my battery to the trunk...trying to figure out what the gauge is and where to tap it.

Do I tap near the left headlight or somewhere else?

I am doing the battery relocate to the trunk project....

If you go with the logic that the E30 used, you need 2- ought. As in, 00 gauge.

I think that's overkill, and 2 gauge would work just fine for an M10.

As to making the connection, you CAN run from the starter hot lug,

and then use that as your B+ connection for the car.

But the E30 way of thinking is cleaner- it creates a separate B+ connection

just as you'd have if the battery was up front, then runs everything from that.

My car came with an 00 gauge by PO. If I were to redo it, I would go smaller 1-Ga. It's connected from starter.
