Ball Joint Pitman Arm

How does one remove the ball joint from the strut end of the pitman arm?

I removed the cotter pin from the castle nut.

I removed the castle nut.

I placed the forks of a ball joint tool in between the ball joint and pitman arm and placed the press arm on the top of the threaded end that held the castle nut.

I rotated the bolt on the ball joint tool so much that the threads on the ball joint stud began to crush and the puller bolt began to bend.

However the ball joint itself did not budge.

What am I doing wrong?

How does one do it correctly?

Lots of penetrating rust eater, some heat, a pickle fork, and a good old BFH (Big freakin' hammer) It's just seized in there.... Good luck!

Got it!

Brass punch, brass hammer and heat.

If you can get a clear shot, hitting opposite sides of "female" part with two hammers works too.
