1975 BMW 2002

My initial search for a nice 2002 here in the east coast was unsuccessful. Most had rust issues which I did not want to tackle or either the sellers were unrealistic with the price. My search then turned to the west coast. I found one that was perfect for what I wanted to do. Rust was very minimal, body was good overall, and basic mechanicals were a good base. I have worked on this car for about 2 years on and off when time permitted. The following has been done:

Mechanical

Head replaced with rebuilt unit (rebuild done at Will's Auto Machine Shop)

New stock BMW head gasket used, new BMW head bolts used

Stock 2-core radiator re-cored to 3 cores at Sim's Radiator Service

Front brakes replaced with New Ireland Engineering Big Brake Kit (rotors, calipers, pads)

Front wheel bearings replaced when brakes done

New Ireland Engineering Stainless Steel brakes lines

Super Blue brake fluid

Suspension upgraded with Ireland Engineering Stage 1 Springs and new Bilstein Sport shocks

New strut and shock mounts when suspension done

Transmission oil replaced with Royal Purple Max Gear

New upgraded 8mm Spark Plug wires

New Ireland Engineering Stainless Steel exhaust system

New BMW exhaust manifold gasket/heat shield used

New electric fan

Weber 32/36 carb

New fuel filter

Interior

Front bucket seat (old school Prinz seat)

New black carpet

Victor steering wheel

Aluminum gas pedal

Dash pad (dash does have cracks like 95% of 2002's)

Custom gray suede headliner with black vinyl pillars

Front door card backings replaced

Front door cards and rear side cards sprayed black

Rear trunk panels covered in black vinyl

Old school wood shift knob

Exterior

Paint and body work done - stock Chamonix color

Front grill painted black

Custom VW Duckbill spoiler

New Ireland Engineering rear fiberglass bumper

14x7 Panasport lightweight rims (racing version), BMW center caps

Falkin Azenis tires with ~60% remaining (195/60/14)

Fenders rolled

New BMW window seals

New BMW black lock strip and cup

New door seals

New trunk seal

New aftermarket belt and knee trim

Rear tail light and side lens replaced with better condition lens

Stock exterior trim that have been kept have been hand polished

Parts to be included

Original exterior trim

320 Turbine wheels and tires that came with car

Front seat that came with car

New center, left, and right ties rods

Stock front and rear bumpers

Washer kit for e-brake

There is probably some things I have forgotten to mention but as you can see above, I have done a

lot of work to this car. One thing that I have not had the chance to do is to weld in a small piece to replace a rust hole on the rear driver side floor pan (rust was cut out). Horn wiring needs to be looked at as horn does not work currently.
