73 Malaga Tii on eBay

There is a nice-sounding/ nice-looking Tii currently on eBay. (Not mine/ no connection) (eBay # 120916075051) I always have trouble understanding how someone selling a car like this can be, as in this case, clueless as to the details of the car, its history, what has been done to it, etc. All he seems able to say is, "well, I have a ton of receipts, and maybe if I look into the pile I can find out answers to your questions." I have to believe he just took it in on trade or something, but wouldn't it pay to do some homework ahead of time?

Very early 73tii based on the VIN 2762634. The paint job looks very nice!

Possibly a one-piece dash.

Black interior with different seats? Chrome hinges

Faded rear tail light lenses

Bottom needs some scrubbing

Shaved side and rear markers

No exhaust heat shield

Drooping tailpipe (I have been challenged on BaT)

Dash is wrong one piece, tii clock is wrong belongs to a 74, interior is wrong panels to later 02's. data plate is reproduction not a deal breaker. Agree with other posters with all the receipts he should know what he is selling. I would definitely do a PPi. For the right price this could be a nice tii for someone.

eBay seller commented on adding a different VIN tag than the one in the early pictures. Nothing wrong with installing a new one. My original one was in such poor condition, I replaced it (kept the original of course).

Regardless of the interior differences, this would be a very good example to inspect and drive for someone interested in a nice 73tii.

Agree with what others have said... a couple of other nitpicky things. It is missing the grey (vertical) side panels that roundie's have in the trunk. Also, I think its missing the upper piece of elephant skin on the trunk floor. Finally, it has the orange 74-76 Achtung engine bay sticker that is usually on the later models. Could be nice or not (photographs well) -- would need a thorough PPI.

They were always aluminum (not painted) the BMW roundel logo was moved on the later model valve covers.
