74tii vacuum routing

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

Got my tii back from the shop. The PO removed the de-acceleration valve from the air cleaner but it been so damn long since I have driven the car (3 children- soccer, lax games etc) that I can not remember how what the routing of the vacuum lines are. I have a massive air leak and can not find the cause. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Max

Wow, thanks for the quick reply. Those pics help a lot. The one hose that I do not have figured out now is the coming off the bottom of the valve as seen in the illustrated diagram. Unfortunately the supplement is long gone.

Thanks,

Max

Mike,

Can you please take a look at your car and let me know what the routing of the vacuum hoses is. This would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Max

The one from the bottom of the decel valve is very short bulk (10mm?) hose and goes into the air cleaner housing. It's pretty obvious where the other longer 10mm hose for the decel valve goes, but the 3mm vac hose comes off the intake to a T with one going to the '74 Tii 013 vacuum retard distributor and the other to the decel valve. A big air leak can also be the big hose from the bottom of the plenum to the warmup regulator, or the warmup regulator itself being bad/leaking. That and a bad intake gasket.

Cheers Max and Hope This Helps,

Here is a 74tii air cleaner installed in an earlier car. The larger stub below the valve mount has been capped off. The valve mount itself has been snapped/cut off.

Mike,

I got it all covered now, Tom answered the question that was lingering. Weird thing is that my airbox was switched out to a pre 74 airbox because there is now mount for the valve and no hole for the hose to the bottom of the valve. Very strange since my car is like a time capsule car that I bought from an estate sale. And yes, it is a different color than yours: Atlantic Blue 2782428 and I use to own Verona Red 2782926 (2nd to last one made)

Thanks for the offer in the info.
