What is the correct way to install a wavy washer?

Raised edges up, or down? Not a serious question. Just thought I'd see what I could stir up.

It doesn't matter as long as you use an adjustable metric wrench to cinch down the joint.

Try to put them on in the deep, dark recesses of the engine compartment, drop them somewhere (like the framerail at the body joint), curse/throw wrench/socket then go on-line to buy more.

To me, the hardest part about BMW using these is removing them after you take the nut off. Telescoping magnet works great for this.

Oh, yeah, they love to 'hide' on things, then fall off into scary places like the top of the head.

But they are THE right answer for steel bolts and nuts on aluminum castings.

Don't use the split things that CD posted a pic of, above...

So, on to a serious question- What's a good source of generic wavy washers?

I assume they are somewhere on the internet with everything else that's for sale, but a quick google didn't find any. I'd rather buy some boxes of ? 100 ? or so and be done with it than ordering a BMW P/N one at a time
