Whining tranny? Need to worry?

Recommended Posts

My tranny seems to be whining. Quite loud, but everything is at 70 mph:)

On low load, "idling" the tranny, not on acceleration or deceleration. How bad is it..?[/u][/i]

When's the last time the tranny oil was changed?

When's the last time the differential oil was changed?

Bad guibo, center support bearing or drive shaft is loose or no longer aligned.

Oils changed last year. Guibo and bearing looked fine when I reinstalled the engine a while ago.

It might be the final drive, but it seemed to come from the tranny. I am however going to have another tranny rebuilt and will replace the final with a E21 LSD (possibly with changed gear to equal o.e.). So I just have to pass this summer. Will crawl around and take a look at the center bearing and that.. Maybe realign.

Thanks!
