Have you done the vin check with BMW? I would be interested as to whether that was originally imported directly to Australia or it was a personal shipment from the UK.

There can't have been many BMW dealers in Australia in 67

The car was built on June 6th 1967 and according to BMW Classic was the 6th '02 ordered by BMW Australia. BMW Australia had only been registered as an Australian company a few months earlier, so it may have been in the first batch of cars they ordered. There wasn't much else to order from BMW Germany at the time, just the 4 door sedans.

As you can see from the VIN it's the 73rd car built in RHD. I kind of feel I have a 'duty' to look after it.

Cheers,

Al.
