Funny that my comment was to be that you need some new rubber here and there...I thought my 02 was a little bit twitchy with poly (I don't do track time), and happily went back to rubber...I guess that is what makes horse races.

Your pictures are the type that everyone buying a car would love to see. Some bushings, a little rocker rust, but pretty honest. (Yep, I'd buy it!)

Enjoy your dad's old toy.

I guess we figured out what that noise was in the rear...looks pretty good, better than most, easy fixes.

From experience, i suggest you take a good look at the front ball joints. Otherwise you might get to share my experience. Fortunately only going 10 mph when the left front ball joint separated. Probably would have turned into a flaming orange ball at any faster rate.

Your car looks really good.

What is that photo of that is sort of gray and has the writing on it. E6 Touring?

That is the muffler. My guess it was replaced in the late 70s when the car was rear ended. My dad must have found an original one? Looks to be dated 09/76

That is neat. Last I heard the touring muffler is NLA.

Do you have a rubber thing covering the hinges in between the backs of the rear seats? I have never seen a touring with that piece.

I wondered that too, I am betting on a replacement sport muffler, MFG in 9/76. Leistritz made sport mufflers in Germany.

I know that view all too well... I've been under that lift a few times myself. You're in good hands. Mark did great work on my '02. When you get it back let us Denverites know and we can get together for that first fun run. Way cool car. RR2

DO NOT REPAIR the gear box or diff oil seepage!

it's the cars automatic rust preventative option. Really.

....just drain and refill

DO FIX the leaking exhaust manifold studs

Patch the small hole in the rocker panel.

Replace all anti-sway bar bushings with urethane

and new long bolts & nuts

Replace front thrust radius rod bushings

Replace both bolts with bushings and spacers-

on the trans/exhaust support bracket

now your good to go ,

nice Touring.

I've got a set of poly sway bar bushing that had less than 500 miles on them when I pulled them off my car. I'll send them to you for the price of shipping if you'll put them on that car.

Nice road-side shots.

I noticed your left control arm is bent like something had come into contact with it.

Also:

Wonder if that block heater still works!

Original riveted ball joints (mine were just replaced on the 73tii).

Welded exhaust system (no clamps)

Old flexible brake fluid hoses (safety 1st)

Squirrel gnawed sway bar bushings?

When you get the chance, pressure wash the underside. Makes working on it much nicer.
