What a nice little car, just drive and enjoy. Over time, replace all the bushings with original rubber, control arms and all that. Make sure brakes are solid. Also looks like the ball joints are original riveted type, replace when you do the control arms.

That is neat. Last I heard the touring muffler is NLA.

Do you have a rubber thing covering the hinges in between the backs of the rear seats? I have never seen a touring with that piece.

Bill,

Rear Trg muffler is still available. I had to use my NOS spare recently when the 20 yr old one finally fell off! So I checked availability. I could get one (then) for around $135.

part # 18 12 1 103 694.

What rubber thingie????

I honestly do not know Bill and I'm in China currently.

I had all the seats out for the refurbishment back in '86/'87. I guess it was there then, but whether, after the 2 yrs it took, I remembered to refit it is anyone's guess.

I'll try & remember to look when I get back.

manifold is an electric block heater--used in very cold climates to warm the coolant for easier starting and faster interior heat. Factory accessory--not sure if they're still available. I bought one years ago but quit driving my 02's in the winter salt and never used it.

Doubt if you need 'em in Australia...

Now I am going to have to go out and look at the back seat to see if I have one. My back seats spend most of their life folded down.
