I'm pretty sure, but not positive, that passenger mirrors weren't standard on German cars of this era. My friend's '73 bug doesn't have one either. I'm guessing the passenger mirrors you see on 2002s were after-market additions or maybe dealer options?

I originally planned on adding a passenger mirror, but after driving for a week in that big greenhouse with its expanse of glass, I decided I didn't need one. Famous last words, knock on wood, etc.

Very nice 76! One question, why's there no passenger side mirror? Our 76 and most that I've seen have one, and we added one to our 74... may want to consider it if it's a daily driver :P

My '76, a California car (smog control now removed), did not have a passenger mirror. Last weekend I got out the drill and installed one. They make a world of difference.

I always do it right the second time.
