Huge thank you to 73colorado02 for that link. We do know about that Baur being parted out, and we have some guys on it.... but we really appreciate the heads up to know that it is still out there! Thank you!

The voll cab is lovely, but so is the DS in the background. Is that one yours too?

If you can shoot me an email when you have a chance, I have a question about your DS

We have some exciting news to share: renowned BMW restorer Ron Perry of Vintage Motorsport Group in Duarte CA has just taken on the restoration and rehabilitation of a 1979 E21 Baur. It is exciting news for ALL Baur owners when someone as prominent in the industry as Ron Perry takes on one of our cars. Ron's last project was just the subject of a great article in Bimmer Magazine: he did a brilliant restoration of Indy 500 winner Bobby Rahal's Batmobile!

It is all here:

http://baurspotting.blogspot.com/2013/02/ron-perrys-new-e21-baur-project-woo-hoo.html

Ron's plan is to have it ready for Bimmerfest 2013, and that will surely guarantee an upsurge of interest in all Baurs!

Best wishes to Ron, and .... personally .... we can't wait to see the project progress!

The long-anticipated event is now at hand!   Ron Perry has his E21 Baur on the road!

"The Baur is on the road! Made it to Pasadena for Bimmerfest on Saturday and then down to San Diego for the BMWCCA Clean Car Contest on Sunday. Finishing up a few details today, but otherwise no issues. Here are some updated pics."   Ron Perry in Facebook today.

Kudos, Ron  Gorgeous work!

"Thanks, Tom! It was a labor of love. This is my 3rd Baur and my 1st e21. I have wanted one ever since I first saw an e21 going down the street. That was in 1984 and over 200 BMWs later. A long wait, and now I am going to enjoy it. This one had been sitting both outside and inside for at least 18 years. It was really a mess."

I am not able to post more pics yet, but I will when I can.

Enjoy!

Did you ever find my old Cab?

Not yet, but..... springtime brings out the cabs!   We have lots of Baurspotters out there, and I have a feeling that one of these days it will pop up out of nowhere!

That stuff happens from time to time.  Here is one example:

Hope springs eternal.... so....

Stay tuned!

Looks suspiciously like the '69 1600 Cabrio that was for sale via 2002AD 4 years ago. Had a "late" front nose and CA tags, als a trap mirror on the DS and a flag mirror on the PS.

Thanks, Les.  You could be right.  I am hoping for more info/pics soon that might be more conclusive, one way or the other.  I will update when I have something.
