Here is a nice Baur Cabrio Targa from Sweden.  Check out the slide show, and be sure to make it full screen.

You may also find the other cars in Bo's collection, including a 327 and a 1600GT, interesting.

You can find it here also, of course:

;)

Enjoy!

  • 3 weeks later...

For some reason we have had a deluge of Cabrios come across the screen over the past few days.  "Tis the season' seems like it might be an appropriate comment, except.... the onset of winter is hardly the season for Cabrios!  But it may well be the season for the onset of Cabrio PROJECTS, which a few of these are!  And some of them are for sale, btw, although nothing particularly close by to those of us on this side of The Pond.

Enjoy anyway!  It is nice to see some of the work going into restoring these rare vehicles around the world!

BTW,in the course of preparing these posts, we learned that there are only three (3) Cabrios in all of Norway.  We have included pics of all three of them, thanks to Terje P.!

More exciting news for Baur fans:

Sports Car Restoration (SCR) of Plainville CT posted yesterday in Facebook that they are 'building a baur'.  Matt McGinn's words, not mine.

!!!

https://www.facebook.com/groups/294946271722/

Needless to say, Baurspotting is pretty excited about this, especially because SCR is only about an hour away from us here in CT.  We have visited SCR a couple of times already this year, and saw 4 Baurs in the shop at the time!

We can't wait to go back.  We hope to keep Baur fans posted on this project, so stay tuned!

It is all here:

  • 3 months later...

I found this Voll Cabrio on an old thread in bimmerforums going back to 2007.  I am assuming you already have it in your files, 02Les, but.... just in case... here it is!

1969 1600 (1602).  I believe that it is owned by bam2002 from bimmerforums, and I think that he is located in Florida.

UPDATE:  Bam2002 has commented on this car in Facebook, so we have found it!

"Yes I have this one. Its now in black primer in line to be restored after I finish my Bavaria...... I had a new rear quarter put on the car and rear floors. Then the shop that was working on it closed. Its been sitting for about 5 years."

Baurs are coming out of the woodwork suddenly!  Here is another one, found by our friend and fellow Baur owner Ed P..  This makes at least 7 known Baurs of all types in New Hampshire, including three Cabrio Targas!!  Who da thought!  :)

One just sold, got bought in Seattle, Golf Yellow, $16K. It was on CL for a day, and removed. Didn't even have time to post here.

Hopefully the new owner will share pix with us.

I wonder if it was this one, spotted last year by Paul S.:
