oh, I dunno, if you it yourself you learn a lot.

IF you like that sort of thing.

And it can be cheaper.... IF you know what you're doing-

but the way you learn what to do is to do it, and...

well, it's circular logic. The short version is that

if you end up doing quite a few over your lifetime, you DO

save noticable money. But the first few are rather expensive.

But if you just want a good motor, it's not

worth learning how to do it, 'cause there are about a hunnert thousand

ways to get it wrong, and some of those are catastrophic.

And no, the displacement bump you get from an overbore isn't worth

mentioning. It's there, it's just less than you'd get from,

for example, a properly- rebuilt distributor...

Fair enough Tony. I am still about $1000 ahead of having someone else build what I put together. That is pretty significant. We'll see where it finishes up as I circle back to that little oil seal problem.

And if you are into tinkering...a motor is a great place to spend your time.
