Plastic cap for steering box

The plastic cap on my QR steering box is beat up. I was planning to open the cap the check the oil level and top up, but am concerned that the cap will fall apart when I do that.

Are these avail new? Or does anyone have a good used one?

be aware that there is a split in the

top of the cap which is a breather vent

it might appear that it's splitting

from old age - it's not

remove yours and clean it with solvent - LOOK

DO NOT LET DIRT FALL INTO THE HOLE!!

The Filler Plug (BMW's name for it) is available from any BMW dealership.

MSRP is $7.16, but you may be able to find it cheaper if you look around.
