Hey, jmr_1602!

Do you have any pics on your car? Dipped?=)

I´ve got a few cans and trying them out on a few things, but the surface becomes a bit rough..

Just wondering how good it can get. At the same time - H-ll, I´m going for a 70´s racy look, it shouldn´t be to nice, right?=)

Ola,

I'll try and get some up close pics this week. I know when I initially painted my panels it looked very rough, but as it dried the paint started to smooth out on its own. The final outcome looks pretty good in my opinion, but definitely not as smooth as a real paint job.

Thanks, that´d be great!

I have a 74tii, just ordered the ProKit from dipyourcar.com. Went with 2 gallons of matte white. The kit come with basically everything you need to 'dip' your whole car. Including prep materials and a paint sprayer.

I'll post some pictures of the process as well as some shots of it all completed.

Wish me luck...

Cool. Did you use rattle can or a "proper" sprayer?

And if rattle can, was it a PITA to get it somewhat even?

Aaand, does it stick?=)

^thank you

I purchased cans at home depot for around 6 bucks a can. I did two cans on the hood, two cans on the trunk and one can total for both sides. It sticks just fine, and actually doing it without masking it ended up being easier. Here you can see the driver side and me wiping away the excess leaving it exactly where I want it. Super easy and awesome.

Just finished dipping my 74 tii. Overall happy with the way it turned out. Ended up using a total of 3 gallons, or about 6 or 7 coats of the sprayable pre-thinned dip in Matte White. Still have a bit of final peeling left to do and some accessories to reinstall, but 99% finished up.

I tried matte vinyl wrap to see what my car would look like in a different color

Looks good! Is that small alpina flares? Where did you get them and how much room do the get you? Less than the turbos-styles?

Yes they are small alpina, maybe about 1" more clearance, it made a huge difference under load when cornering hard, no more shaving sidewalls.

I bought them in FAQ Store, I believe Jaymic also sells them.
