As said, clean the wax off the hoses and spray with W40 which will make the hoses look really nice.

I prefer the Silicone Hoses in black on a street car.

The commonsense behind the blue hoses is that it would be easier to spot a leak on a race car. Admittedly they have been pretty bastardized at this point.

It's no fun deer hunting with the front of your car. I have some plastic high frequency "whistles" that mount on the front bumper for repelling deer while driving. A different application but still a whistle.
