Talk me out of hot glue for plastic sheeting behind door car

My 02's previous owner used hot glue and it seemed to hold up well. Holding the plastic sheeting to the door behind the door card. I only removed the old sheeting because I wanted to lube the window mechanism.

Any reason I should use something else?

Easier solution is Repositionable spray avail at your Art supply store (3M and other brands). Spray it on and fix the plastic sheeting. It is convenient as you can remove without damaging the sheet and can reseal without needing to respray.

as long as its sealed doesnt matter what you use The only thing you may want to think about is ease of removal and hot glue peels right ioff

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. The old glue came right off, but it was holding on until I gave it a tug.

I think it will be sufficiently repositionable for me. Plus, I don't have to go buy more glue.

Love the rubber sheeting you used, haha.

I am going to go with hot glue. Was going to do it last night but got busy. I'll wait til this weekend when it's warmer and drier. Been raining the last 24 hours (which is a welcome thing around these parts).

but it doesn't allow for re-positioning.

Did for me. But then, I nailed it 3 out of 4 on the two cars I have used it on. Plus you get a roll that will do several cars.. There's plenty if you manage to really mess it up.

Cut it too long. Line up the top. Stick it lightlyaround the perimeter, cut Xs over the cranks with a blade, then press and trim the rest.

2002 newbie, and dead serious about it.
