High Speed Idle Screw

Thanks to everyones help I seem to have improved my hard starting problem by readjusting the choke. In the process I messed with the high speed idle screw (I should not have touch it, but I did).

Now I have no high speed idle at start up. However if I turn the screw in, it starts to physically open the choke flaps and then the car wont want to start because the choke is not effectively engaged. Having a hard time understanding where the sweet spot is.

If memory serves, there should be a slight gap between fast idle screw and the fast idle cam when the choke is off (fully open). For cold start, pressing pedal down at least half way allows choke flaps to snap closed, which turns fast idle cam to higher step.
