Anyone know whatever became of my Malaga 2.2liter Alpina tribute Emily?

VIN: 2590095

Last sold in the Northern VA / DC area by a broker type place a couple years ago +/-.

Just wondering. Would love to get in touch with her current owner and find out how she's doing! Last seen with Panasport type wheels (*sigh* such a WASTE of her signature Alpina steelies!)

2.2 Kerman

Schrick 300

9.5 JEs

dual 45s

turbo radiator

Talbots (real 'uns)

aluminum flywheel

S14 crank/rods

exhaustive metalwork and paint by Sports Car Restoration in CT

...and more Euro / Alpina / special goodies than I have time to list

Simon & Garfunkel had a song "For Emily, Wherever I May Find Her" on their "Sounds of Silence album (CD). You may wish to hum it until the car shows up.

Thanks Fellas.

I actually sent and received e mails from the place that last sold her. The person with whom I corresponded said he's be happy to pass along my contact information to the current owner. I;m not holding my breath. He *did* say that all the receipts and records were transferred with the car, which is GOOD. There were about $40k worth of receipts (of my own) as well as previous owner receipts- some as old as 1978ish.

My favorite receipt (dated 1980-something), hand written on a small slip of paper:

"bus fare to pick up car from repair shop $1.20"

Hopefully her new owner loves and appreciates all the effort that went in to the build.

I almost bought her last year when it was for sale around DC.

My 2002 was manufactured on September 15th, 1971 and delivered on October 22nd, 1971 to the BMW importer Hoffman Motors Corp. in New York City. The original colour was Granada, paint code 023. It was sold on New Years Eve December 31st 1971.

I know this is resurrecting a long dead thread, but I believe Emily just popped up in a Craigslist ad in Minneapolis:  https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/cto/d/minneapolis-1973-bmw-2002ti/7341155681.html

The Seller has been trying to sell it for a year now. Maybe he should try BAT.
