steering and suspension Trick To Pulling Steering Wheel Loosening Nut?

Guess the LeMons crew piloting the Chevy Monza at Summit Point did not check the basics.  According to the Washington Post article for last Sunday, the steering wheel came off as they were pushing the car.   I felt sorry for their effort...

No nylock on 02's.. (atleast on the earlys) wave washer and reasonable tight.... Please stop going crazey and then trying to pass your bad ideas to others... if you dont know you dont know  (im sure there is a torque spec in the manuel) impact is ok, not ideal but ok... a breaker bar with the column locked... lefty loosy is good for this one.. and then abra cadabra! Poof!! its off..

 

No Loctight!! even if it comes loose its not going to come off in your hands unless you have missed the fact you wheel has been loose for months...
