1973 Bmw "ti"

For sale is a unique 1973 BMW 2002 "Ti". The engine has been built to Ti specs, it is not a "from the factory" Ti. The "Ti" (Touring international), refers to a dual-carburetted engine with a hotter camshaft and higher compression ratio. Essentially, this is much faster than a standard single carburettor 2002. It has the look of a Euro as well, with smaller European bumpers and euro turn indicators.

No serious rust issues at all. Car was originally from AZ. Sweet engine, dual Weber DCOE40's, 192 cam, 9.5:1 compression ratio, new clutch, lightened flywheel. Tii exhaust. Rebuilt completely by Johnny at Autosport Seattle in 2001. I have invoices which total over $2900 for the rebuild alone. The car was then reassembled by Steve at PM Auto, which was another $2500. The car has been in the garage since the rebuild and has not been driven that much, maybe 2000 miles, if that? I would take it out for a good long drive once in a while. Recaro driver/passenger seats are really great. Aluminum wheels are period correct and tires are in great shape. Cool sport steering wheel. Braking and handling are solid, especially as the speed increases.

Issues: Little electrical/mechanical things don't work, such as the odometer, the wipers are slow, the heater doesn't heat much. The interior is clean, but the carpet kit is not spec and it's a little chintzy. Cheap Maaco paint job--looks okay. Engine bay and trunk are not "pretty".

Both the front and rear bumpers have small dents. The back end has some Bondo and there's a crack in it related to the backing into a short pole near the taillight. Other damage was one of the license plate lamps was broken off ($50 part).

That's about it. Mechanically sound and downright unique, but needs some attention. Please don't reply unless you know and love these cars and are serious. It needs to go to a good home!
