I am the one who was stupid enough to install new ugly speakers to replace the original ugly speakers.  Being a purist is annoying.  When I bought the car new from VOB BMW in Bethesda in 1974 the car came with a Blaupunkt radio and Blaupunkt speakers.  When I restored the car I couldn't get the original speakers so I found ones that looked just like the originals.  The only good thing about the set-up is that I didn't have to cut out any large holes for speakers.  Cutting into new upholstery would have killed me .

We had great weather and it was so great seeing everyone.  Honestly, just seeing all the 02's parked in front of the house put a huge smile on my face (heck, its still there), but I couldn't have asked to celebrate Oktoberfest with a better group of people.  Thanks so much to everyone for helping to make it a great day.  Great cars - but better people.  I am attaching some pictures.
