Saturday 11/30 Daytona Turkey Rod Run Events

The Turkey Rod Run is occurring this weekend.  Its a great gathering of car people showing a-z vehicles from antiques to customs both foreign and domestic.  Saturday.the speedway infield clears out before dark but the some of mild car stuff continues in the east parking area.

 

The real action which is free, starts from the Speedway on 192 east to A1A on beachside.  The show car traffic continues north on A1A to  Bellaire plaza at 2595N Atlantic Avenue.  The traffic crawls while every type of vehicles goes north to the plaza and attempt to park in the Publix center.  Its a gathering of serious gearheads showing their vehicles. 

 

There are plenty of places to eat near the plaza. Spectators set up chairs along A1A to watch to the parade.  Everything from model Ts to Porsches, muscle cars, 4x4s, and street rods roll up and down the avenue.  The spectators sometimes use water buckets soak the lanes allowing for quick burnouts.  This activity continues past the hotels and condos south to route 192 and starts begins to quiet down after 11pm.
