Very good! I used blue and havent had issues FWIW. But red is the smart choice!

I finally had to take two of the bolts out and switch their locations so that the holes would line up in different directions. After I did that it was a piece of cake.

Now that is dedication and attention to detail! I just re-did the safety wire on my '69's CV joints (thanks for the diff, Grice!) and not all of the holes in those 24 bolts were in the optimum place. I've heard of indexing spark plugs, but indexing safety-wired bolts is a whole new level :)

Making this the unofficial "check my work thread"

My concern is the top left bolt.  If I try and go up and around the top of the bolt hole, the wire kinks against the knuckle before I can pull at as tight as I need to.  

 

The bolts have blue loctite and are properly torqued.  

 

Am I overthinking it?

Yup.

Loctite and proper tq is all you need.   The wire is a decoration at that point.
