Nordschleife? Do you know where? Brünnchen?

And the car looks like the one Cahsel had for sale. Gone now, I think. Or maybe that one had the stripes diagonally cross the hood..

OK,  I know its not a Racing picture, but this was taken in 1949 or 1950 at the original street races in Watkins Glen.  According to my dad it belonged to an opera singer who always came to the races and used to sing the national anthem.  It is located on 5th street just after turning onto the main straight.  The 2nd porch on the right is/was my grandparents house (where my mother grew up).  I will keep looking,  I know there was a 328 in the very first race in 1948 and I am still looking for some race shots of that.

OK,  I know its not a BMW but I'm hoping you find this worthy!  This is how Milliken's Corner got its name on the original Watkins Glen Road Course.  This corner was a sharp 90 degree left at the bottom of a mile long hill.  Bill Milliken  flipped the Bugatti and walked away from it.  To this day that is referred to as: Milliken's Corner.  Still looking for the 328 at the 1948 race.

Bill Milliken a lucky man, you don´t wanna be caught upside down with fuel and straw bales all around.

Here´s a drivers "office" in a beautiful made replica of a Ferrari Dino 246 from a sports cars event in my hometown last month.

You´ve got balls if you go flat out between those fuel tanks, but the cars back then didn´t have seat belts.

Leaving the car was the best option...

OK,  here we go again!  My dad found this one, he was at this race.  The 1952 street race at Watkins Gen, going into the first corner, he claims # 21 is a BMW.  Not sure I see it but maybe someone here can shed a little light on it for me!

ANDERSSON: After reviewing yet another amazing smorgasborg of period BMW race photos you have been so kind to find, and share- I found myself driving home from work too fast in my old 911.  I was scheming- thinking about trying to purchase a 1602 period race car that a friend of my Dad's used to race. I found myself heel/toeing double clutching and going over 120 -  some devil may care joyous  pleasure that comes from driving fast- the adrenaline, and endorphins.  I admit it -I was seduced yet again, shamelessly intoxicated by the amazing photos.   I was thinking about my 2nd car -a 1602, 411 rear with 2000 tilux motor and 40 DCOE webers- your photos pulled the joy of that car sliding around corners - and my buried 1970s existence out of the musty  insular lobe and limbic system of my brain.   I felt young .    Again- words are insufficient to convey my gratitude.  You are clearly a kindred spirit.  Please forgive my posting some non race pictures, (my 3rd BMW and GF at that time) along with my  72 911-  only out of spiritual gratitude - to thank you.    Really- many thanks.     sincerely, Peter
