Rumor is that this is a real car, but that it had to be stanced only once it got to the photo shoot, in order to be able to get to the photoshoot.  Once it was lowered to what you see in the photo, it became too low to jack back up to drivable ride height.  It was that low.  Attempts were made to drive it back home, or at least onto planks that would allow it to again be jacked up, but It got beached terminally on an indent in the pavement that was rumored to be only millimeters in height.  Kids in skinny jeans with cars with bike racks for bikes they never used (mounted on their cars only for show and instagram/forum photos), tried hard to save the car... but alas, it was lost.

That being said, stance is not my thing, but one must admire the attention to detail and commitment to ruining a car so fully.

"stance" has been a thing for a long time tho. my dad spoke about how in the 70's they would lower their VW buses because it looked better. this is just what it has evolved into due to air ride systems, lowering springs, bigger wheels, and aftermarket products in general.

the way i see  a slammed car or "stanced" car is... "it takes a certain skill and large set of balls to drive a car with that kind of fitment and a frame/oilpan that close to the ground, and i give respect to that"

its strickly form over function.

im sure alot of people think its dumb that people would put money into a 40 year old car and actually attempt to drive it everyday.

to me, a TRUE car enthusiast loves all cars, appreciates all the time and money people put into a car to make look or drive a certain way.

what about ratrods? couldnt you agrue their function is form?

hmmmm,

<dripping with sarcasm>

did BMW swap the wiper pivot points for the right hand drive cars?

did they also move the gas cap to the left side of the car?

that could have been an owner mod I guess.

can't be a mirror image as the license plate and the stance works logo seem right.

those flares come up into the hood nice, or are the attached and lift with the hood?

the rear flares look like they are part of the trunk lid.

couldn't be photoshopped :)

</dripping sarcasm>

:)

something about that "left" front wheel don't seem right either

Just my .02 cents

That sounds awfully politically correct for the internet.  Was the internet not originally created by Walt Disney to allow people to say things to others that they would never have the balls to say in person?  And porn of course.

Next thing we know someone will link to a stanceworks photo essay about respecting people's different opinions and shared appreciation for detail that sounds all poetic and makes you feel guilty for being a judgmental dick. I don't want to see that.  Barf.  Like everyone else, I only want to hear other people who agree with my opinion as it justifies me in a world where I am actually an anomaly for my tastes.  Why the hell do we think people created Fox news and CNN?  News?  No, so that we can hear our own opinions daily for justification.  I don't want truth or reality, I can get that watching Big Brother Season 12, I want my own fabricated bubble called life.

Besides, I read on a website that 97.2% of voters agree with my views.  It must be true, it was on the internet.

Of course, it's real. The parts were delivered by unicorns and Megan Fox did all the wrenching.

You're thinking of Al Gore. We wouldn't want any misinformation on His internet.

The picture is completely real. Every member on Stanceworks currently has a build thread on their build to the exact same, unique, specifications.

Sorry, but that it terrible misinformation.  Damn you internet.  The porn thing was Disney, I am 110% sure of this.  p.s. Steve Jobs invented the computer in the early 90's.

this is not a real un-photoshopped BMW. the original is a e28 5 series nicknamed rusty. It is from stanceworks. the guy who owns it, slammed it on bags, dropped a JDM motor in it, chopped the top, and fake rusted the whole exterior. and it did have 4 doors.

it was an amazing build until it unfortunately burned in a garage fire. word on the street is that he is rebuilding it.
