engine and drivetrain Key Won't Return From "on" Position...

Did some searching but I couldn't find anything...

 

Does not appear to be any "indent" between "run" and "on" position in ignition switch. My other cars always had a little "indent feel" between run and on. This key just goes from run to on and stays there until you try and move it back to "run" position in which case it just shuts the engine down.

 

Hmmmmmm.... Any ideas?

Half a qwart of wd 40 always helped mine, just keep an eye on the overflow

I think there is a special lock lubricant spray. Don't over do it.

Use powdered graphite lubricant instead of a liquid one; much less messy and lasts longer.

The graphite may not loosen up a gummed tumbler set. Good for locks that work though.
