Sliding the picture of the new car over the old dramatizes how much bigger and fatter the new one is, even though it looks small and compact.

That display is just a little misleading, as the 235 is 174" long, while a '72 (and earlier) 2002 is only 167"--but when you roll one over the other, they're exactly the same length.  They shoulda used a US spec squarelight, with is 176" long.

I like how they dont mention much on the fact that the 1 series was the "new" 2002 when it came out.  I'm surprised they are trying to emphasize it on the 2 series a lot.

The 1 series is definitely a better comparison.  I'm sure the suits have a bunch of reasons.

Thanks.  Yes those are the real italian turn signals.  I bought a couple of pairs back in the 80's from BimmerParts (back when they were still in business).  Paid about $50 per pair back then.

I must say the factory tii alloys look GREAT in the BMW media.  I wanted to try something a little different hence circa mid70s Western "banana spoke" alloys.  Painted center and polished rim.
