Sicilian 02

I have just been stationed in Sicily for two years. I am car hunting right and have ran across a 02. I have made an appointment to look at the car tomorrow and would like some input on major things to look for good or bad when asessing a 02. I have a 72 2002 back in the stats I am restoring now so I know how to work on it if needed but would like to have a pretty sound car to start with. Thanks for any input anyone might have.

Cheers,

Chris

I dont know where you are located in Sicily, or if you are in Facebook but.... here is a contact in Palermo that is a friend of mine in Facebook.

If you are on your own, and kinda feeling like a "Stranger in a Strange Land", he may be a fallback resource of some sort for you.  He recently sold his E21 Baur.  If you take a few moments to check out his Facebook page, you can see he is a car guy.  I do not know him well, but I do think he may be a sympathetic and helpful local connection.  Caveat emptor, of course.

Here is a blog post I did about his Baur when it was for sale.  He will recognize that.

Tell him Tom from Baurspotting gave you his info.

I hope this is helpful to you, good luck with your search, and let me know how you make out.
