Sunday Cruise With My Daughter

Recommended Posts

Sunday cruise with my 16 year old daughter...  Had her start out in the high school parking lot so she could get used to the brakes.  Didn't take long and we were off for a cruise around town.  The old 76 looking at 38!  Good times!

Nothing like starting 'em out right.  If we don't teach the young generation to (1) drive stick and (2) appreciate old cars, in a few years there (1) won't be any stick shift cars available and (2) no old car hobby.

Taught both my son (now 21 with a 99 318ti, 02 325ci we use for autocross & track days, and his daily driver is a 86 MR2) and my daughter (now 18 with the old family 528i) on the 1600. It was very easy for both. Neither one of them however, like the lack of amenities in the 1600. My daughter prefers her 528i with power everything! Enjoy the time while you can. Both kids are off to college & its not quite the same without them around!

My wife is adament that our daughter, 16, learns to drive a standard because that's the way her father taught her. Unfortunately of our 5 vehicles my '02 is the only standard. On a related note, need to contact Steve at Blunt and replace the broken license plate lights.
