engine and drivetrain Can My Fuel Level Sender Kill Me?!

Hi guys,

 

had to solder on a fuel return fitting and i have melted the insulation around one of the terminals a little. i also snapped the very thin silver ground wire and had to reattach it. It looks ok and i checked that the terminal isnt grounding to the lid of the unit with my meter.

 

However if i have got it wrong can i blow myself up? I have always found it scary that the sender sends 12v through the fuel through un insulated wires!

 

 

my mot retest is tomorrow fingers crossed the bloody car passes!!

It won't blow up, the air fuel ratio is all wrong.

cheers ar_kid, fingers crossed but they absolutely roasted me first time. 4 pages!! should never have gone to a garage that makes racing cars haha

Ah! the dreaded MOT, I remember it well.

If they had a test like that in Texas, the roads would be clear!
