San Francisco Sports Cars offers an incredible 1976 BMW 2002 for sale. This BMW 2002 4 speed has only 583 original miles! White exterior with black interior, documented and true! What an amazing story and what an even more amazing car. In 1976, BMW switched over from one of their greatest success stories, the 2002 and moved on to the brand new 320i. A local BMW dealer has only a couple 2002 left in stock when the first 320i ships to him, most sell but not this final, last car in inventory. Nobody came to buy the little car and eventually the dealer decides to move it to a warehouse to make room for what does sell well.

We now fast forward to 2007, the little car has been sitting for 30 years waiting to be called to duty. The BMW dealer has decided to sell his business but decides he wants to keep the 2002, she is registered for the very first time, put through his service department, changing all belts, hoses, fluids, filters, etc and then she goes home with him. He drives her aprox 50 miles when his nephew approaches him about his interest in the car. He decides to let her go and the nephew titles her to himself in 2010.

The little car does duty with the nephew, grocery store, country club, short jaunts here and there before he realizes it should really be able to be appreciated in a different way, a museum or collector, not as a regular car as he might.

Let's see. For the price of a Tesla, or 3 plus Passat diesels, or a Mercedes S class, or a new Sprinter 4 cyl. with new camper conversion and a warranty you can buy a little car designed in the fifties with poor ventilation, 100 horsepower, 13 inch tires, no airbags, 4 speed trans, that delivers about 20 miles to the gallon of gas. It's a no brainer unless 75K is lunch money for a buyer. -----Tesla. or a new BMW diesel, or Prius, or Porsche, or whatever.
