history and reference Voll Cabrio With Va Plates

Scott S. spotted this Baur Voll Cabrio on Facebook.  It has VA plates.  I am thinking we know this car, but I do not have access to all my files here.  Does this car look familiar?  Andy S.?  02Les?Any help to identify this Baur is welcome!

Was for sale back in '80s by Lothar Schuettler (MD) and more recently Aug 2011 in Great Falls, VA.

Reported to have new fenders, doors but still needed work.

We were able to chat with the guy doing the restoration work, and through him, the owner, this evening.  It is located in the Washington DC area, and is being restored.

The owner of this Voll Cabrio has contacted me today, so I hope to have more info and pics before too long.  Stay tuned!

Lothar (pronounced Lo-tar) has this one in his collection.  I believe he said he changed the original color.

 

Next time I see him, I'll ask him about the earlier one in this thread.

Much obliged, Jim!  I have seen the pics of Lothar's 'open house' for the NCC----- wow, what a place!   I love that red Baur, and the 502 Baur cabrio also.  Gorgeous.  

 

By coincidence, I just posted a link a few minutes ago in Baurspotting to a 2010 post of yours here in the FAQ, where you posted a Baur Cabrio Targa on the cover of the June 1981 Roundel!   

 

I was scouring the archives for red cabrios, and that post popped up!     Amazing what you can find in those files!
