Tii Rotors Nla?

E21 and E30 Brembo rotors have both developed 'checking' which, in racing vernacular, is a proliferation of very

small surface cracks, when used with race pads on a race car.  It's not a problem in and of itself- in fact, I was using 'checked'

race rotors on the street cars with no ill effects whatsoever.  The problem for racing is that one (or more) of the small surface

cracks will eventually grow into a split in the rotor, which IS a problem.

Dunno if they still do it- I changed brands.  It's certainly not something a race car would suffer from.

And thanks, Byron- I'd forgotten about Coleman.  They're pretty reasonable, considering what they do.

Oh, I'm not that energetic, I got the email too

was wondering if they are OEM or third party, but not enough to ask :)

I just ordered a set from W&N.  I'll report back what brand they are once they arrive.

I received the tii rotors today from Walloth & Nesch.  No telling what brand they are.  I can see where W&N purposely cut the manufacturers label from the box so I have no way of knowing where they were made or who the manufacturer is.  Definitely aftermarket.  No markings or part numbers cast into the rotors (unlike the real ones from BMW).  We'll see how they hold up over time.  Cheers,

John
