Prices are headed up. It's not just the roundie tii's either.  I sold mine about 6 mos. ago at a price that would not begin to work just a couple years earlier.  I was pleased, but so is the new owner. Simon has pumped numerous parts and $$$ into his beloved new '02.  Win-win.

Love all the thoughts and advice.

One more thought for you: I actually don't know all that much about my BMW. While I've been driving it for a long time, I've relied on a family friend for most of the work.

I say that b/c I know people have in depth questions when they buy a car and I can't always answer those.

Is there anything I can do to help make people comfortable about the car when a bunch of my answers are "I don't know"?

Also, any specifics you think I should work on to get the car sold? I'm trying not to spend more money, but sometimes you just have to.

If you have a local shop which is familiar with the car, you can suggest the prospective purchaser speak with them.

I am going to hijack this thread instead of making more clutter.

I am getting my 74 2002 Base Automatic ready for sale. All stock and original.

The car is in good shape mechanically, the car was resprayed at some point before i got it, and polishes up nice, the car was a California car before I bought it and put it in storage here is Utah. There is some minor rust on the lower rockers, and the spare tire well around the tow hook. Interior is fair with rips on the drivers seat only. Car has the sunroof option and Behr A/C. Any help woudl be appreciated, I have check ebay, and Autotrader, but there are not too many comparables. Hagerty has the value even in Condition 4 at $6,000. Any guidance would be great.Sorry no pics but the car isn't quite ready yet as it is sitting on stands while I go through the brakes, and replace a couple things.

I am not a good judge because I think the prices are a little high. If you have comparable a at $6k, start there. You can always drop the price, but it is tough to go up. That being said a car with rust to me (without pics) would be $3-4k.
