So wiring my starter back up and cants seem to get it hooked up quit right it works but gets really hot. Am I correct that one of the thick wires that stems from the battery termnal goes to it? Can someone post a pic of how there's is wired.

Blake654: No reason for starter to get hot if it's wired properly. If it persists, may be time for a rebuild or replacement. Rebuild is usually $150-200, replacement with more modern starter same price.

I chose the rebuild path as I like stock.

One upgrade that I did and recommend highly if your car is pre 74 is a starter relay. It takes the stress off your ignition switch which gets "REALLY" hot otherwise.
