Check with strictlyvanagon (a.k.a., wmass2002). He had a brand new E21 head that was a steal -- $525 -- if you're looking for a virgin head. It might be sold by now. Search the For Sale classifieds for "E21 head" to get his phone number. And don't even THINK of texting him!!!

Good luck,

Steve

....Pulled off an actual 1982 e21 320iS that I parted out...

I think that the e21 cars switched from 2.0 to 1.8 liters in 1980. I don't know what changes that displacement change brought to the heads. I believe the distributor's rotation direction may have also been reversed at that juncture -- or was that later? I'd wager, nonetheless, that a few of these 1.8 heads are currently serving on 2002 blocks. A post-76 E21 head (I use capital "E" for the heads whereas I use lower case "e" for the body style), unless it was sold as a repair part for a 2002, is also generally not drilled for a mechanical fuel pump. But at least a few people have drilled later E21 heads to accept a fuel pump and consider it a non-issue: just know in advance what you need and what you're buying.

Hello - I have an E21 head off my 76 O2. I also have an E12 head stamped 82 off a 320i.

The E21 is drilled for a mechanical pump as for all 76 cars and the E12 is not as for all fuel injected cars.

If you are still interested I can be reached by FAQ or 206 681 6831

I am in the Seattle area.
