How do you say BMW "2002"

I'm most inclined to say "Oh 2", but to strangers who often pay me comliments on my car I say "Two thousand and two".

In my family, with two daily-driver '02s, I refer to my wife's Pastellblau '76 as "Your car" and my Chamonix '75 as "My car". I've never been into the "name game".

No confusion for me: in 42 years of ownership, I've never referred to an '02 as a 114!

Regards,

Steve

I should clarify that I often use it when searching the Internet for parts, or specifically eBay. I think the "2002" portion of the search is almost useless and then there is always the mysterious nonsense nomenclature of the "e10" — but it does help filter down.

I almost feel like a cheater referring to my 1600 as an '02...

Just about everyone knows what a 2002 is, though.

But it's a roundie, sooo...

I call it either the 1600, the '69, or the white car; two door. (Have a 528i with same major descriptors, just two more doors, and a thousand pounds...)

It gets tricky when you have two "oh-2's"

When I'm talking about them to my family - its the green or blue car
When I'm talking about them to my friends - its  Cactus or Bluey

When I'm talking about it to other 2002 owners, its the 71' oh-2 or the 72' oh-2.

But I never say the BMW or the old car, because the E30 falls into those two cagagories :)

Not sure it helps: nolltvåa  = zerotwo  (In swedish we don't refer to zero by "oh" as a rule)

When speaking to those close to me: den gröne = the green

Still WAY easier than explaining an E9 coupe.  "What kind of BMW is that?"  Its a "CS".  Well, mine is a 2800cs but they also make the 3.0cs.  Most people just kinda nod their head until I say "Its the predecessor to the 6-series", then they say "Oooooh yeah, I see".

I'm pretty much on board with calling it a two-thousand-two or 'Oh-two...

UNLESS I have to go get some random little thing at autozone. Then I call it a twenty-oh-two. Seems to be the only way their heads dont implode when they ask me the model. Its saves me sooo much time, even if I cringe as it comes out of  my mouth. haha.
