I am selling this car because I am working on a 2nd and I don't have space or time for two.

 

I trailered the car to storage in the fall.  The car will be running.

 

If you are looking for a clean body, look no further!  This car came back from Germany with me in 2000.  I am the 3rd owner.  The car was originally a company car. One of the employees bought it and kept it for 20 years.  Garage stored and lightly used.  I am the 3rd owner.  I have all the original paperwork.  I put about 6000 km on it and I have had it garage stored since coming back to Canada in 2000.

 

This car was completely redone in 2003 by a professional.  The car was painted the original BMW Chamoix white.  I didn’t pull the motor for this as the engine compartment didn’t look too bad.  There is some minor surface rust in there.  For a perfect car, I would do this now.

 

The body is sound, all metal work for the small patch work that needed to be done in the trunk area and the rockers.  The floors are clean and rust free. The headliner is perfect. The car got new doors and new front quarters at that time.

 

Last summer, I put an E12 M10 motor in this car with a new EMPI 38/38 downdraft carb.

 

I went through the transmission before I mated the new motor up.  It is clean and shifts well.  I serviced it with new gear oil and installed.

 

The drive shaft to output received a new guibo.  These need to be replaced every 10 years or so to prevent damage to the gearbox.

 

Should the buyer be interested, I still have the original 1502 engine with the block that matches the body.    The water jacket in the head blew, thus the engine replacement. For $500 more, the complete original engine (minus the head) will be yours as well.

 

I have completely gone through this car.  The seals, rubber, CV boots (all original) still look surprisingly good!

 

I replaced the seats we E21 recarro's years ago.  The original seats are NLA.  Sorry.

 

Work that I would do if I were keeping this car with estimated part cost:

1.  Front rotors and calipers ($500)

2.  Rear drums and pads ($500)

3.  Rear trailing arms ($300)
